The Heart is only an Organ.

Or at least, that's what Jordan Schwartz (Sir Nadroj) thinks. In his latest freaky, slightly disturbing, loads of tentacles are grabbing a heart, dragging it to the very dark depths of hell. Well, that's how I interpret it. It's modern art, this is all to be expected.

So here's the picture, and a link to the MOCpages page , because Schwartz has blocked people from copying images from his Flickr. ARGH!

Giant Leprechaun

You know I said about the giant Leprechauns that do all my work? Well, in return, they wanted me to recognise their work on the blog. So, I went and found some Irish guy with a hat to keep them happy. Phew!

Double whammy: Making your creations look great & Oblivion

Quite often, you spend ages making a great lego model, take a picture to put on somewhere like moc pages or brickshelf only to find it looks terrible because you've got lots of things in the background, like your bed or other models. Well you can make your creations look great, quickly and easily by using GIMP. It's a free photo editing software, and you can go to the website and download it by clicking here. Then just use the magic wand tool and the eraser to get rid of the messy background (NB it works better if you have a single solid colour in the beckground). Here's an example I did earlier.
Notice how much more professional the bottom one looks. Please note you can make yours look better than that by taking your time. I did that one really quickly. Now for the review...

This sculpture, named Oblivion, was created by Nowhere Man. There isn't much to say, other than it looks great. The colours are good, and my only criticism is the dark, blurred photo. You can find more pictures of it by clicking here.

Life goes on.

Life goes on, says Joris Blok. But does it? And, in particular, what does it have to do with lego minifigs sinking into lots of different colours, and the poor dark-green guy falling off the edge of this MoC? And why? Argh, too many questions, let's just leave this MoC as what it is: a work of modern art. Er...yeah.

"The cool machine"

The "Cool machine" was created by Shannon Ocean, it is supposed to represent her experience of school. You can find more pictures of it by clicking here.

"Cosmic Chaos"

Yet another nannish creation by Nannan Z.

"Just add imagination"

Another classic nannish (a new adjective, which describes MoCs made by, or in the style of, Nannan Z) creation here, made by the big NZ himself. This imagination topic reminds me of a saying I once heard:
Each imaginative thought not thought yet is like an unborn child just waiting to come out.
But when it does, don't push to hard.

Contortion

This is 'Contortion', an amazing piece of Lego artwork, made by Nannan Z. Who is he? Well, do you remember that Satellite Outpost? And that weird black tank thing that was in the banner (or still is? I'll have to check)? Well, he made them! I've discovered more of his abstract and sci-fi creations on MoCPages, so there's more to come (if I can remember the names!). Ok, enjoy that great double helix shape!

Frogspace

There's been a huge cult thing going on at Brickshelf. Users everywhere are making mechs and spaceships for one creature: the Frog. This is frogspace, and this is cool. Here's my favourite pic. Enjoy!

Predator

RAWR! I'm in a good mood today, so I'll post another of my cool pics I used for the new header. Well, actually, I'm always in a good mood! lol! So, here is a vignette of a 'Predator', as in the film 'Alien vs. Predator'. I've never seen a Predator before, since the film is so dark you can't see anything! Oh, I saw the film Alien too. It was very strangely directed. So, I'll give you three guesses as to who designed this...come on, you should know this...come on...oh well, it was Nathan Sawaya, the lawyer-turned-LEGO artist. Ok, bye!
ps. Don't forget that October 1st is National Brachiosaurus Day!
