Monocle interview Jørgen Vig Knudstorp

The economic online magazine Monocle have interview Jørgen Vig Knudstorp, the Lego CEO. I first saw this a few months ago, and so I thought I'd put it on now. After the mess Kjeild Kirk Kristiansen had made, Jørgen looks set to have a lot of cleaning up to do around the company...
Check out what the big JVK has to say in his cool Danish accent here .

EU Courts reject Lego's application for Brick Trademark

The EU Courts have rejected Lego's application to attach a trademark to their Brick. If the Application had been accepted, it would mean that all other brick-related brands such as Mega-Bloks and Best-Lock would have to close down, as their bricks would be an infringement of copyright. The rejection of the trademark had been up since 2004, but the rejection was backed up by a new decision last thursday. The judge said:
"The Brick is a functional, technical shape that is not one company's property."
Lego are still going to carry on appealing for this trademark. Lego spokeswoman Charlotte Simpsonsen said:
"We will take the case to the highest court: the European Court of Justice."
Well, good luck with that. For those of you who want to find out more, the BBC article is available here.

Playback

Yet another amazing non-minifiure lego animation from Paganomation. It's ssoooooo smooth, the music is decent and the storyline is simple and understandable. What makes his films totally unique is that he's one of the only people who doesn't use minifigures. You can see the video on YouTube by clicking here, and you can see the Paganomation YouTube channel by clicking here. And also, just to let all you David Pagano fans know, John got an interview with him, which will be released on the 1st December.
